CAREUSTZ uses cultural diversity existing in the community to develop community service programs to support refugee families in addressing their needs in transportation, childcare services, food/meals services, housing and emergency shelter, interpretation and translation, youth programs, senior services, legal and counseling services, employment programs, and public safety during the resettlement process. Meanwhile in Tanzania, CAREUSTZ collaborates with community leadership and local governments to develop sustainable projects for availability of safe drinking water, use of alternative energy resources to preserve the environment, development of sanitary lavatories, landfills, sewers, and other systems to preserve the environment, development of modern skills in fields such as midwifery, carpentry, farming, etc., construction: roads, markets, social centers, etc. to address community-level barriers and issues working against the wellbeing of the community.
