We C.A.R.E. for Community Empowerment!
BOY-CHILD EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM [B-CEP]
CAREUSTZ believes in the empowerment for ALL genders. While in many organizational and community efforts empowerment has been skewed towards girls and women, we believe that such strategy creates an unhealthy gender gap in the way men of the future (boys and male youth of today) fail to realize their potential in many aspects of their lives, including adaptation to life skills, community engagement, building healthy relationships, and maintaining mental and emotional well-being.
The Program was successfully run with the support of both KOR and UWSK. Over 80 male youth have benefitted from it in 2024 and 2025.
Trauma-Informed Care & Wellness Series
CAREUSTZ in collaboration with the Kentucky Office for Refugees (KOR) have started a program to address gaps in trauma-informed services and wellness in their communities. This partnership allowed over 100 clients from different national, age, and gender backgrounds to complete the inaugural training series between April and September 2023. Colorful recognition ceremonies, in which the graduates were awarded with certificates were held at each completion of the sessions for different population groups.
The sessions went on again starting October 2023 to September 2025. Groups of Adult Females, Adult Males, Young Females and Young Males were used to reach the diverse age/gender groups of refugee and immigrants for these sessions aiming at bringing healing, wellness, and trauma-relevant interventions. Qualified and licensed trainers and social workers have conducted the sessions.
Let's together C.A.R.E. and stay informed for Community Empowerment!
Women Empowerment is one of the constants at CAREUSTZ. The current program series is sponsored by our partners, United Way of Southern Kentucky to support women in refugee and immigrant communities to build capacities to become contributing members of the society. The kick-off was on September 22, 2023, with lessons on PARENTING in the U.S. Context. The lessons have provided a space for learning, healing, socializing, cooking, and attaining wellness goals.
Let’s join forces to support women for a better future in our communities.
